Lower Shawsheen Playground

The Town of Andover, MA needed to renovate their existing non-ADA compliant playground that was at the Lower Shawsheen Park. Due to the proximity of the Shawsheen River the design reflected this meandering water body. A ground-based playground was designed to allow for universal access while offering a variety of challenges to all user groups. Natural boulders were incorporated to give a natural feel to the design along with blue and gray colors. Asymmetrical paths and safety surfacing patterns help to reinforce the design theme.
