Tufts Library
The Town of Weymouth has constructed a modern, 21st-century library, designed to adapt to the community's evolving needs. Leveraging the existing topography, the building's strategic placement maximizes the site's potential. The landscape seamlessly extends the library's interior, creating cohesive indoor-outdoor spaces. A terraced plaza offers an elevated view of the surrounding park, while curved grass seating areas provide flexible spaces for relaxation and events. A new playground enhances the site's recreational offerings. The existing hill was preserved for winter activities, and an innovative outdoor stage, built from repurposed library walls, adds a unique feature. Sustainable stormwater management, complete with an educational overlook deck, demonstrates the library's commitment to environmental awareness.
